About us

At RCYM we are here to serve you. Our purpose is to provide youth with information on the Biblical passages that are often times misused to condemn homosexuality. We are here to help those that have been kicked out of, and rejected by churches because of homosexuality. Our hope is that this Ministry, RCYM will help those that are broken hearted, to understand that they can be young, gay, and Christian.

RCYM Mission Statement

The Mission of Rainbow Christian Youth Ministries is:

To rebuild the Bridge that has been torn down. To restore God’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered, and questioning children. To help those that have been rejected, kicked out, and told that they can no longer worship God because they are gay.

To teach, train, and equip the children of God for the mission Jesus set out in Matthew 28:19 – 20.

To counsel the Children of God and help guide them in the way that God has commanded us to live. To show Holy Living throughout personal life.

To love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, souls, and minds, to surrender our whole being to him and to do his will.

To unite with others in the stand of teaching the youth that they may be able to be pastors, teachers and elders in the Body of Christ. To network with others in the community, community leaders, churches.

To reach the GLBTQ Community between the ages of 14 and 24 years old that Traditional Churches cannot reach out to.

RCYM Vision Statement

The Vision of Rainbow Christian Youth Ministries is:

“Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” –1 Peter 2:10. NIV

The Vision of RCYM, it to present the desire the Lord placed in our hearts to reach those that are lost and have been rejected by traditional churches, in some situations even reaching those who may not be considered youth. We believe that God has called us to be a spiritual hospital, an intensive care unit, in other words, a place of refuge and healing for His children. Reaching out with His words of love, compassion, hope, healing and reconciliation.

We are committed to the pursuit of holiness. We are dedicated to rising up for Him, a Godly generation of men and women. We foster growth in the ways God has set for us. We nurture families and individuals to be firmly founded and rooted in the principles and practices of God’s own spoken Word, the Bible.

We are committed to responding to the needs of His children, always willing to serve, educate, and equip them, while guiding them into a life of freedom, hope and victory in Christ Jesus.

Our hope is that the fruit of these efforts will be a people once broken hearted and now set free: people who will walk in the divinely appointed ways of God.

Where God did not call us his people, his word says, “now you are my people.” Where he did not have mercy on, his word says, “now you have received mercy.”

Our Message

We believe that churches have torn down the Bridge today. RCYM and other ministries such as ours believe that it is time to “Rebuild the Bridge” that has been torn down and to show people who Christ came to set the captives free.

As a personal experience, I was kicked out of a foursquare church that I had attended for about seven years. It kind of reminds me of the Salem Witch Trials. I was put on trial for acts that I did not do. It’s time that the youth ministries get together and save the lost from the traditional churches so that there are no more suicides in our community because a youth thinks that he/or she can’t be Christian.

The tasks that are set before us are not easy ones. But with the strength of God’s wisdom and his directions, Paul states, ‘All things are possible through Christ Jesus.” This is an unusual ministry but someone has to do it. And people have been called to this area of ministry!

Paul’s words at Romans 8:1, ‘there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ,’ and we believe that it is time to tell the truth about the wonderful life that is in Christ Jesus.

We can have the confidence that Paul did when he said, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” (Romans 10:11, NIV). As long as we trust in Jesus Christ we will not be put to shame. Remember that as it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:36, 37, NIV) We can proudly say and agree with Paul, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1, 2, NIV) Yes there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! Let us unite and together and proclaim that Jesus is Lord. -Steve Payne, Youth Minister
